A fire that created a scare in the foothills over the weekend is nearly contained. FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
Firefighters will continue to put out hot spots Tuesday on a fire that scorched more than 130 acres near Prather.
Crews fully contained the "Lanes Fire" at about 6 p.m. Monday.
Two lanes of Highway 168 at the Four Lanes remain open.
The effort to put out the fire has cost more than $943,000.
Cal Fire officials say the fire was sparked by someone who threw a cigarette out the window while driving down the Four Lanes early Saturday afternoon.
