LOS ANGELES (AP) - California's power grid operator has lifted its call for statewide energy conservation this weekend despite the continuing heat wave.
The California Independent System Operator says the so-called Flex Alert remains in effect Friday but conservation will not be critical on Saturday and Sunday based on forecast electricity demand.
Cal-ISO notes that it is keeping watch on the outlook for Monday.
The heat wave has brought triple-digit highs to the interior regions of California all week. Forecasters see a slight cooling trend early next week.
