MERCED, Calif. (KMPH) -
Authorities in Merced are looking at whether the same man is behind two violent crimes, including a murder.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, Merced Police went to an apartment complex off Park Avenue and Park Place after receiving a call about a shooting.
When officers got there, they found a man who had been shot and was not breathing inside one of the units. He was declared dead at the scene.
While officers were looking into the murder, another person called the police department about a robbery in the same area.
They stopped a man, and took him in for questioning.
This was Merced's fifth murder of the year.
