Fast Break: Basketball Star Leaves Fresno State

Posted:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Madison Parrish has left the Fresno State basketball team and will play next season at Fresno City College, where she has already enrolled in classes.

Fresno State will run a different system under first year head coach Raegan Pebley, who was hired to replace the highly-successful Adrian Wiggins.

Parrish, a former Hanford High School star, had hoped to rejoin Wiggins, who left in the spring to take over as head coach at Mississippi.

That option was blocked by Fresno State, while granting Parrish permission to talk to other schools about a transfer.

But after playing next season for head coach Brian Tessler at Fresno City College, all restrictions are removed, and Parrish would be free to play for Ole Miss, or anywhere else.

In her one season at Fresno State, Parrish was the Bulldogs' third leading scorer with nine points a game, and was named to the WAC's All-Freshman Team.
