FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Charges were filed Wednesday against a man who police say was driving drunk and crashed into a Fresno family, killing a 7-year-old boy.
Loren LeBeau, 42, has been charged with the following:
-- Gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated
-- DUI causing injury
-- Driving with a 0.08% blood alcohol causing injury
-- Leaving the scene of an accident - death or permanent serious injury
Donovan Maldonado was killed in the July 25 crash near Shepherd and Millbrook.
Fresno Police say Donovan, his father and sister were riding their bikes when LeBeau crashed into them, took off and then came back. They say LeBeau had a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 percent at the time of the crash.
LeBeau was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail. He bailed out of jail a few hours later.
LeBeau is Central High School's varsity boys basketball coach. He is currently on paid administrative leave.
Donovan's father and sister continue to recover from their injuries.
