FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
Some Fresno County homeowners are very fortunate after a grass fire came close to wiping out their homes.
The fire broke out about 4 p.m. Tuesday, investigators say, in the field at Jefferson and Highway 41, south of Fresno.
Fire teams were able to beat back the flames before they got to the homes, but a couple of sheds were lost.
Firefighters say they had a hard time of it due to the hot weather and wind.
About eight acres were burned in all.
No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
