FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

An electrical fire forced a Southeast Fresno family out of its home Tuesday morning.

Fresno firefighters got the call of a fire at a home on Bend, off Barton, just after 4 a.m.

When crews arrived, they found eight people outside who were trying to put out the fire with a hose.

Three people suffered smoke inhalation, but were treated and released on scene.

Investigators say the fire started in the kitchen and spread to the attic.

Damage was estimated at $18,000.

Firefighters say the home did not have working smoke detectors.
