
Things are much calmer at Corcoran State Prison after a riot broke out Monday night.
Prison officials say as many as 80 minimum-security inmates were involved in the riot, which started around 8:30 p.m.
Officers used pepper spray, blast grenades and other non-lethal force to control the inmates.
Five inmates were hurt and taken to a hospital. They have since been returned to the prison.
No officers were hurt.
Officers say they recovered several makeshift weapons.
The incident remains under investigation.
