101-Year-Old Man Left In Hot Car, Police Say

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

A caretaker is facing elder abuse charges after Clovis Police say she left a 101-year-old man inside a hot car while she went shopping.

46-year-old Tina Johnson had been employed to take care of the man.

A passerby called police after noticing the man inside a car parked in front of the Walmart at Shaw and Peach in Clovis.

Police say they had store employees page Johnson several times, but she never answered.

Officers found Johnson inside the store about an hour later. She was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail.

The man was taken to the hospital, and is expected to be okay.
