A toddler is recovering in the hospital after being pulled from a Porterville pool Thursday night.
Porterville Police say they went to a home in the 1100 block of North Beverly Street at about 7:15 p.m. after receiving a call about a 2-year-old boy who fell into a swimming pool.
Police say the unconscious boy was pulled out of the water. His father and an officer then performed CPR and revived him.
Minutes later, paramedics arrived and took the toddler to Sierra View District Hospital. He was later flown to Children's Hospital Central California, where he remained in critical but stable condition Friday afternoon.
Police say there was a three-foot fence around the pool with a locked gate. It's not known how the toddler got over the fence.
Officers believe the boy was in the water for less than two minutes before family members found him.
