FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
We have an update on the 18-month-old girl who was seriously injured in a crash last week that left 7-year-old Donovan Maldonado dead.
Family friends say Donovan's sister, Bella, is out of her medically-induced coma and is conscious. She remains in critical condition but is awake.
Her father, Jesse Maldonado, remains in fair condition. He is recovering from a broken leg.
Police say a car driven by 42-year-old Loren LeBeau hit the Maldonado family as they bicycled in a crosswalk in Northeast Fresno on July 25.
Police say LeBeau's blood-alcohol level was 0.11 percent, well above the legal limit.
LeBeau is scheduled to make his first court appearance next week.
