FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office is trying to figure out who killed a man outside of Parlier.
Deputies say a farmer had been driving a tractor when he spotted the body of a young man on the side of the road near Floral and Newmark at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say they found shell casings around the body, which led them to believe that the man was the victim of a murder.
Around the same time, deputies were called to the area of Academy and South after a man was shot.
Deputies say the man was not responsive, so they have not had a chance to interview him.
The victim had surgery, but there's no word on his condition.
At this point, detectives don't believe the two cases are connected.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff's Office at (559) 488-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
