FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Opponents and supporters of same-sex marriage are crowding into Chick-fil-A restaurants this week as the company continues to be criticized for an executive's comments about gay marriage.
Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press last month that the Atlanta-based company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family."
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Baptist minister, declared Wednesday national "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day," and encouraged people who support the company to eat at their local Chick-fil-A.
A long line of people formed outside the Fresno location late Wednesday morning. At one point, about 100 cars were waiting to enter the drive-thru.
Those who favor same-sex marriage say they're planning their own major protest Friday. Some say they will kiss in front of Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country and take pictures.
