We now know what started a massive fire that destroyed several businesses in the town of Mariposa.
Seven businesses burned to the ground on the night of May 11.
Officials with the Mariposa Public Utility District say an electrical short-circuit started the fire in the attic of the Pizza Factory.
Firefighters used more than half a million gallons of water to put it out.
Damage to the pizza factory building is estimated at $1.5 million. But the economic loss to Downtown Mariposa could be even greater.
