FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A Santa Barbara man is recovering after a daring, mountainside rescue.
Friends reported Lawrence Bishop missing last Friday in the Dinkey Lakes area high in the Sierra National Forest.
After combing the rough terrain, members of the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team finally found him Saturday hanging on a ledge.
Bishop had fallen about six-hundred feet down the sheer rocky side of Dog Tooth Peak onto a ledge where rescuers say they heard him moaning.
Rescue teams were finally able to lift him to safety with the help of a CHP helicopter.
Despite the ordeal, Bishop was not badly hurt.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and released Sunday morning.
