The Fresno Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Agriculturist of the Year award. This well-known award is given annually to an individual who epitomizes leadership and integrity in the Central Valley's agricultural business community. In conjunction with the Chamber's award, Baker, Peterson & Franklin, LLP, Certified Public Accountants, are also accepting nominations for the 2012 Baker, Peterson & Franklin Ag Business Award. This annual award is given to an agricultural organization or farming entity whose accomplishments have significantly contributed to the industry and the local community. The deadline to turn in nominations for both awards is September 14, 2012.
The Fresno Chamber of Commerce Ag Awards Luncheon is a long-standing tradition that has honored many individuals and businesses who have demonstrated a sincere commitment to the Fresno agricultural community, through both personal efforts and leadership abilities. Last November, Jon Marthedal was recognized as 2011 Agriculturalist of the Year and Allied Grape Growers as the Ag Business of the Year. The awards will be presented at the Ag Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at TorNino's Banquets.
