Hiker Missing On Mount Langley; Crews Searching

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The Inyo County Sheriff's Department and crews from Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are searching for a missing hiker on Mount Langley.

The hiker has been identified as 31-year-old Tom Heng, of San Rafael, California.

According Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks spokeswoman Dana Dierkes, Heng took a day hike to Mount Langley on Sunday, July 22. He was last seen at 1 p.m. that same day on Mount Langley at approximately 13,000 feet.

Mount Langley is located on the crest of the Sierra Nevada, between Inyo and Tulare counties.

Heng's hiking route was expected to include Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead, through New Army Pass, to the summit of Mount Langley and back, Dierkes said.

Heng is 6'0" tall, weighs about 166 lbs., and has short black hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue pants, a tan full-brimmed hat and sunglasses. Heng has a scar from his left ear to the base of his neck, and a large scar on his left arm from elbow to wrist.
