MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
A 20-year-old Madera man who was shot last week has died, and now authorities are looking for the person who opened fire.
James Dull died after being shot at a home on Parkwood Avenue near Highway 145 Thursday night, said Madera County Sheriff's spokeswoman Erica Stuart.
According to reports, a man knocked on the door and asked for the victim by name. Dull tried to slam the door shut as soon as he saw the gunman, but he was unable to close it before he was shot in the head, Stuart said.
Deputies say they were given very little information about the gunman except that he appeared to be in his 20s, stood between 5'5" and 5'8" tall, and was wearing a white shirt and black and red shorts.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Madera County Sheriff's Office at (559) 675-7770 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
