
Keeping a journal of what you eat may be one of the most effective ways to lose weight.
Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle found women who kept food journals lost about six to eight pounds.
Study authors give the following tips:
- Be honest and record everything you eat
- Measure portions and read labels
- Include details about how the food was prepared
- Always carry your food diary with you, or use a diet tracking app on your smartphone
