MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate a crash that killed four people Sunday afternoon in Merced County.
The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. along Highway 99 at Sultana Drive; that's south of Livingston.
Officers say a man drove his GMC Sonoma into the highway the wrong way, going northbound into southbound lanes. He crashed head-on into a GMC Sierra, carrying five people.
The impact caused both trucks to flip.
The driver of the Sonoma was killed. Three people in the Sierra were also killed. Their names have not been released.
