Lorenzo Rodriguez
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A Fresno man took the celebration too far at a party celebrating his release from jail earlier in the day.
Lorenzo Rodriguez was released from prison Thursday.
His family threw the 24-year-old a "Welcome Home" party at a house, in the area of Lane and Winery, to celebrate his new freedom.
But hours later, witnesses told officers Rodriguez had too much to drink, and started to argue with some of the guests.
They say he got ahold of a knife, and threatened to kill someone.
Guests scattered and called officers, fearing for their lives.
By the time officers arrived, Rodriguez had left the home.
Police and parole officers found him moments later, hiding in the bushes, "very intoxicated."
Rodriguez told officers he had "snapped" and "reverted back to prison mode."
He has been booked at the Fresno County Jail, accused of making terrorist threats.
