CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -
A man is under arrest, accused of shooting his girlfriend in the head in Clovis Tuesday morning.
Clovis Police say 21-year-old Jermaine Dupree-Means shot the 19-year-old woman at their apartment along Barstow near Villa shortly before 2:30 a.m.
Police say they went to the home and found the woman with a gunshot wound to the right side of the head. Officers say Dupree-Means had a deep cut on his right arm which they believe was self-inflicted. Both were taken to Community Regional Medical Center.
According to investigators, the woman hid in a bedroom following an argument. They say Dupree-Means then broke into the room and shot her.
Police say Dupree-Means went outside to hide the gun while the woman called 911.
Dupree-Means was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and domestic battery.
