COALINGA, Calif. (KMPH) -
Firefighters in Coalinga had their hands full Monday morning with what they're calling a suspicious fire.
Crews were called to a home on Cedar and 3rd Street just after 1 a.m.
The family inside woke up to a fire in the back of their house.
Family members tried to put it out with a garden hose, but crews were on scene within two minutes. By then, the fire had spread.
Firefighters were able to put it out a short time later.
The fire caused an estimated $60,000 in damage.
