FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The Fresno County Sheriff's Department has arrested a parolee wanted for burglary charges.

Deputies responded to a car burglary on Tuesday afternoon in the area of Normal and Maple Avenues.

That's when they say K-9 officer Oka spotted 32-year-old Stephen Philip Forest walking in an intersection.

Deputies tried to stop him, but he ran. They were able to catch up with him, but Forest resisted and began to fight with the deputy. Officer Oka showed up as well as a second deputy and all three were able to control Forest and take him into custody.

The investigation revealed that Forest was responsible for the vehicle burglary, and may be involved in a hot prowl burglary in the same neighborhood.

Forest was hurt during the struggle. He was checked out at Community Regional Medical Center then taken to the Fresno County Jail.

He faces vehicle burglary charges, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest as well as parole violations.
