Heading South For 4th Of July? Expect Delays On I-5

KERN COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Drivers planning to head to Southern California this Fourth of July can expect long waits on Interstate 5.

Caltrans will be doing road work for the next few days on I-5 in the areas of Buttonwillow and Lebec; that's just before the Grapevine.

Because of this, some lanes of both north and southbound I-5 will be closed.

Caltrans is asking that drivers prepare for delays.
