Man Drowns In Kings River Near Reedley Beach

REEDLEY, Calif. (KMPH) -

A trip to cool off in the Kings River proved deadly for one man.

Reedley Police say a 35-year-old man tried to swim across the river around 6 p.m. Sunday.

He started at Reedley Beach, but didn't make it back.

Rescuers found him about 20 minutes later under water.

They started CPR on the man, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The man's name has not been released.
