Fresno City Council Adopts $233 Million Budget

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A budget is now on the desk of Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin.

The City Council adopted the budget for the 2013 year Thursday night.

The $233 million budget includes major cuts that Swearengin called for to stave off further cuts.

"I applaud the Council's adoption of the FY 13 budget. We have a good plan for the year and can move forward with implementing that plan," Swearengin said.

The mayor has ten business days to take action on the budget.
