FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Three young girls are lucky to be alive, dry, and safe.
They were rescued from the freezing, fast current of a Fresno canal.
It happened near Tulare and Fowler, while the girls were walking home from Fancher Creek Elementary.
The girls scraped their knees on brush when they went in.
The girls tried to cross and when they got close to the other side, an officer pulled them out one by one.
Fresno police remind everyone – canals are dangerous. Do not swim in them.
