FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Fresno Police say a traffic stop Tuesday night, may have helped save one man's life.
Officers had been patrolling in Southeast Fresno around 11 p.m. when they spotted an SUV that was speeding. They pulled over the driver about a mile away, at DeWitt and Kings Canyon.
As they walked up to the SUV, officers noticed the back window had been kicked out.
As they got closer, they found a 20-year-old man whose legs, ankles and hands had been tied together with tape.
He was bleeding, and pleaded for officers to help him.
He told officers the two men in the front seat, 24-year-old twin brothers Daniel and Ulysses Carrillo, kidnapped him.
One of them, was his roommate.
The victim told police he had been robbed.
He added that he kicked the window in a desperate attempt to get someone's attention—and help.
He was treated for cuts at the scene and was taken to police headquarters for further interviewing.
Officers later served a warrant at the home Daniel Carrillo shared with the kidnapping victim.
They say they found three handguns and a rifle; one of the handguns was reported stolen.
Police still have not released a motive in this kidnapping, but say they are glad to have freed the kidnapping victim before anything else happened to him.
Police are still investigating, and if anyone has any additional information about this matter you are encouraged to call the Fresno Police Department at 621-7000.
