North Valley Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A soldier from the North Valley has been killed in Afghanistan

Sgt. Jose Rodriguez, 22, of Gustine, died June 19 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered from enemy, small arms fire, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

Rodriguez was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., the DOD said.
