FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Angels' pitcher Jerome Williams was released from a Southern California hospital Tuesday afternoon, and doctors are evaluating his test results.

Williams, who owns a home and a business in Fresno, started Monday night's game against the Giants and left in the fourth inning. Teammate Torii Hunter said Williams passed out when he got to the clubhouse.

The 30-year-old spent Monday night in the hospital, suffering shortness of breath.

Williams, with a history of asthma, was originally a first round draft pick of the Giants in 1999, and pitched for the Fresno Grizzlies on his way to the Major Leagues.
