Child Abuse: Porterville Woman Accused

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Porterville woman has been arrested on suspicion of child abuse.

Porterville Police say they went to a home in the 100 block of East Henderson Avenue Tuesday morning and found a four-year-old boy who had bruises on the side of his face.

Investigators believe the boy's mother -- 29-year-old Felecia Sweeden -- was the person who hurt him. She was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of child abuse and being under the influence of drugs.

Police say Sweeden's other child -- a six-year-old -- was also at the home. Both children were placed in the custody of Child Welfare Services.
