There is another opening for a head coach at Fresno State. Longtime women's tennis coach Simon Thibodeau is leaving after nine years to take over as the new head coach at UC Santa Barbara.
Thibodeau was officially introduced as the Gauchos' new coach Tuesday in Goleta.
He had a sensational run at Fresno State, winning seven conference titles, earning seven trips to the NCAA Tournament, and being named WAC Coach of the Year six times.
Thibodeau's career record with the Bulldogs was 159-80. His departure creates a fourth open head coaching position at Fresno State. Women's tennis, men's tennis, softball and equestrian.
