FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate a deadly crash involving a Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy near Coalinga.
Officers say the deputy was on patrol on Highway 145 at El Dorado around 11 p.m. Monday when a 25-year-old woman was walking in the roadway, and the deputy hit her with his patrol car.
The woman -- later identified as Kristle Clowers -- died at the scene.
Officers don't know why she was on the road, and they're looking at whether drugs or alcohol were factors in this.
Investigators say at this point no one is facing any charges.
