FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Four dogs are dead after a fire destroyed a home near Clovis.

Fresno County Fire teams say when they arrived at Heather Lane and Poinsetta Avenue Friday morning, the flames had already spread throughout most of the house.

The family was able to get out safely.

Firefighters were able to rescue eight of the family's 12 dogs. The other four dogs were found dead inside the house.

No firefighters were hurt.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
