FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Firefighters are trying to figure out what started a fire at a medical building in Central Fresno.

The fire broke out just after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the old Cedar Village Medical Center on Clinton and Cedar. That's across the street from McLane High School.

The building is vacant, but businesses nearby - including a library - had to be evacuated.

One firefighter was hurt. Details about his injuries have not been released.

Fresno Police briefly closed off the intersection.

Firefighters expect to clean up for several hours.
