San Francisco Giants' star and fan favorite Pablo Sandoval is scheduled to join the Grizzlies Tuesday night on a rehab assignment. The third baseman is recovering from a broken bone in his hand, and has been sidelined for more than a month.
The 25 year old is also facing some adversity, accused of sexual assault over the weekend.
Sandoval has not been charged, and his attorney says the encounter was consensual.
On the field, the Salt Lake Bees made the Grizzlies feel the sting of defeat in a 9-0 rout of Fresno.
Cory Aldridge, Adam Heether and Paul McAnulty hit home runs for the Bees.
The Grizzlies are still in first place, but their lead over second place Sacramento has been cut to a half game.
