FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A fire continues to spread out of control in the Sequoia National Forest.
So far, the George Fire has burned approximately 1,700 acres, forest officials said in a news release Monday.
The fire started back on Friday, June 1st, near the George Bush Tree in the Freeman Creek Grove.
The following roads and trails remained closed Monday morning:
-Lloyd Meadow Road
-Freeman Creek Trail
-Jerkey Meadow
-Forks of the Kern Trailheads
Forest officials say the fire is about 25% contained.
About 500 firefighters are battling the flames.
