FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A popular coffee maker is being recalled after 68 people reported suffering cuts and burns, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said.

More than 1,200 people also said the handle on the coffee pot broke during use, the agency said.

The recall affects 159,000 Black & Decker Spacemaker 12-Cup Programmable Under-the-Cabinet Coffee Makers. They were sold nationwide from July 2008 through May 2012.

The recall includes the following model numbers: SDC740, SDC740B, SDC740BR, SDC740C, SDC740DIS, SDC740R, SDC750, SDC750C and SDC750DIS. The model number is printed on the underside of the coffee maker, below the water reservoir.

The CPSC says people who own this coffee maker should stop using it immediately and contact Applica Consumer Products, the company which distributes the appliance, for a free replacement.
