FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
A toddler nearly drowned in a backyard pool in Northeast Fresno Wednesday morning.
Fresno Police say it appears a gardener accidentally left a gate open and a boy wandered into the pool at a home day care near International and Maple avenues.
Emergency crews rescued the boy and took him to Children's Hospital Central California. Police say he's expected to make a full recovery.
Police say a day care worker was cleaning in the backyard when the toddler fell in.
