SANGER, Calif. (KMPH) -

GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney came through the Central Valley Wednesday, eager to give his campaign a big financial boost.

Organizers were hoping to raise $1 million dollars during the two-hour stop in the Sanger-area home of Westside grower John Harris.

Romney rolled into the event in a dark-blue Chevy SUV, exactly at 11 a.m. under heavy security from the Secret Service, CHP Dignitary Protection and Fresno Co. Sheriff's Deputies.

People spanning from Visalia and Modesto turned out for the fundraiser, where tickets were around $50,000.

Romney made the stop ahead of Tuesday's Primary Election in California.

This was his fourth fundraiser in the Central Valley this election cycle. His last visit was to Clovis in October.

To give you an idea of how far Romney's campaign has come, Herman Cain was the frontrunner at that time.

Supporters told KMPH News they were happy to be at Wednesday's fundraiser, relieved the GOP is uniting behind one candidate, and no longer tearing each other down.

This is at least the second fundraiser Harris has hosted for the former Governor of Massachusetts. He hosted Romney at Harris Ranch in Coalinga in 2007.

Romney left without speaking to reporters.
