FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Here's something you don't read every day.
A bull -- yes, a bull -- has been captured after running loose in Southwest Fresno Friday morning.
The 1,500-pound bull led officers on a chase and led to schools being put on lockdown. People locked their homes as they feared for their safety.
The whole ordeal started around 8:40 a.m. when police got reports of a bull on the loose near Chandler Airport.
The bull went through the edge of Downtown Fresno, an apartment complex, passed by schools and homes, then jumped onto the back of a pickup truck.
At one point, it tried to attack a Fresno police officer on a motorcycle as the officer tried to corral the animal. Luckily, the officer is an experienced roper who handled the knock just fine.
Animal Control officers eventually got the bull into a trailer after it was captured in a backyard.
It's not yet known who the bull belongs to. It was taken to a stockyard.
