FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
One of Fresno's most notorious auto thieves is back on the streets.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Department confirms Ralph Jasso was released from jail on Sunday.
In the past, Jasso has been listed as one of the city's most prolific auto thieves.
Fresno Police Sergeant Tim Tietjen says every time Jasso is released from jail, more cars are stolen.
"Like we've said before, these top five individuals, our most prolific auto thieves, they are going to on a daily basis steal cars," Sgt. Tietjen said. "And our rates are going to go up, and the city of Fresno is going to victimized by this subject once again."
Sgt. Tietjen wants to remind residents to do all that's possible to safeguard their vehicles, like using a club or some sort of anti-theft system.
