FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
At first glance it looked like a toy water gun, but when Fresno Police looked closer, they realized it was actually a home-made shotgun.
Police say they found 54-year-old Randy Smith carrying the gun while walking in Southeast Fresno on Saturday. They say a shotgun was built into the plastic shell of a Super Soaker water gun.
Officers say the gun was loaded when they found it.
Smith was arrested and booked into jail on charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and manufacture of an illegal weapon.
