Man Struck, Killed By Garbage Truck In Porterville

PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KMPH) -

Police in the South Valley say a man has died after being hit by a garbage truck.

It happened around 8 a.m. Monday at D Street and Olive in Porterville.

Investigators with the Porterville Police Department say a garbage truck hit a 73-year-old man who was riding in a motorized wheelchair within a crosswalk.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No other details have been made available.
