The Cinderella season for the Reedley High School softball team came to an end Friday with a 6-2 playoff loss to Independence. But the Pirates are celebrating a milestone.
They won the first North Yosemite League championship in school history. At one point, it did not look like that would happen. During a five game losing streak, Reedley was outscored 47-0.
But the Pirates bounced back to take the league title, achieving the team's top preseason goal.
Now Reedley gets to hang the school's first championship banner, something that can never be taken away.
