Fresno Christian High School was eliminated from the baseball playoffs Thursday with a 10-4 loss to Sierra. But Eagles' senior Trevor York continues to lead the state in hitting.
Sierra's Casey Blunt led the Chieftans into the semifinals, pitching a complete game while collecting three hits in the win. Sierra opened a 9-4 lead in the fourth inning on an RBI double by Blunt, and a two run single by Jerad Fletcher.
The loss ends the season for the Eagles and for York, who had two hits in the finale to finish his season with a batting average of .647. That leads the entire state of California.
