FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The Fresno Police Department is warning the public about an ongoing scam targeting the elderly in the area.

Detectives say people working in teams of two or more are contacting single senior citizens and offering to do home improvements or yard work.

Once they're inside, one of them will ask to use the restroom and the other will ask for a drink. The first person then goes through the home looking for small items of value.

Fresno Police say they are looking for a man and a woman with medium complexions in connection with these cases.
