FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -
The California Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving a tour bus.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 5 at Lassen Avenue; that's near the city of Avenal.
CHP officers say the bus was going north on I-5, when the driver suddenly swerved to the right. They say the bus careened off the highway, bounced off a guardrail, toppled a sign, hit an overpass, then flipped.
At least three of the 29 Chinese tourists on board were hurt.
Traffic was backed up for about two and a half hours until the bus could be towed and the lanes cleared.
Another bus was sent to pick up the tourists.
