FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -
Some of the Valley's finest went badge-to-badge Monday in a competition to help save lives.
Firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency personnel from all across the Valley helped kick off the 11th annual "Battle of the Badges" blood drive.
The idea, of course, is to help save lives by donating blood and registering potential bone marrow donors for those who need compatible donors.
The public is also invited to come out and donate and vote for their favorite "badge" carrier.
The drive will continue through May 19th at Central California Blood Centers throughout Fresno and mobile blood centers in Fresno and Madera Counties.
